Great way to start the Week

Today was a pretty great Monday…

I slept in, snuggled with Bennett, watched a little E! TV, met L at the gym for a great workout {yay! So happy to have my gym buddy back!}, ran some errands including a stop at the store to get fruit & veggies for the week, cleaned the house, prepped food, and now I’m working on laundry… Phew!  I feel like I have gotten so much accomplished today…

Lately I feel like I’ve been all over the place… I’ve been out of town (for at least a day or so) for the last 3 weekends, and still have a mini-trip later this week to see our baby sis graduate… Along with all the fun traveling my dedication to my healthy & active lifestyle took a back seat starting about a month ago…

The convenience of eating out got the best of me… meal planning was pushed aside… and with that led to me making poor choices for meal & snacks… and because I did not have the normal energy I’m used to from GOOD food my work outs began slacking as well… queen of excuses right here and I'm not happy about it….

When I decided to change my LIFESTYLE I knew times like this would happen, and it just lets me learn more & more about myself… one thing I have discovered is my lack of will power when it comes to eating sweets… I know everything is okay in moderation, BUT when I personally start with sweets it’s like I have no “off button”… and I cannot get one example in particular out of my mind which is the entire PLATE of desserts I ate at Thanksgiving that left a lot of the men in my family in shock that I could eat that much… wow talk about a wake up call…

I am just so thankful that I made the choice to get back on track sooner than later… or I would have been back to the same place I was at this time last year… 40 pounds heavier & unhappy with myself…

I realized I need to make a better effort to plan & prep food for the week… especially when it comes to lunches… not only will this eliminate not having time to pack my healthy lunch, but it will also save some $$ Smile

I went to the grocery store this afternoon and stocked up on fruits, veggies, eggs, etc.…

I cleaned & cut up the fruit & veggies while I was boiling a dozen eggs…

and I also put everything into Tupperware so I open the fridge and have so many healthy options staring back at me when I am packing our lunches, or even just need a quick snack… {instead of grabbing a cookie or chips}

I know I feel better when I have a game plan…  and I hope being more prepared with my food options will help keep me fueling myself with healthy choices rather than sugary treats Smile
