Good Always Wins

Ever have one of those days when you're just disappointed in how negative and mean people really can be?

Well I absolutely try not to focus on that BUT sometimes I can't help it..

I was driving home from work with my mind racing about too many not great things...and I take Bennett to walk to get the mail and BOOM I get hit with such a wake up call I swear God knew just what I needed...

I really believe God uses those around us to show His never ending love and grace in this world...let me explain...

Last week I was contacted by a girl I've known for several years asking my opinion about cutting a significant amount of her hair to give her a brand new look and also wondering if Id be up for the challenge... Of course I was thrilled she asked and was looking forward to her visiting the salon for the first time... She has been extremely ill for years and came in the day after she had a permanent feeding tube put in so I wanted to make sure I did whatever I could do to make her day a little brighter.. She really opened up to me in the middle of me chopping 15 inches off of her hair and by the end of our conversation she looked like a brand new woman.. I'd like to think on the inside as well as the outside... I walked her up to the front of the salon and I just felt like I couldn't accept a payment from her.. When I told her it was my pleasure to be her hair stylist when deciding to make a drastic change and that she could just refer me to her friends and family instead of paying me that day she hadtears running   down her face as she hugged me goodbye and left with the biggest smile on her face...

So that brings us to today when I got home feeling less than great to find a note in my mailbox from her thanking me for everything I did for her that day.. And it went beyond a new hairstyle.. For listening, for encouraging her, for laughing, and for offering to pray for her..

I may not be the best hair stylist in the world, not even close actually.. But i care about people and i love having so many unique opportunities to make someone's day better.  I know that God is definitely using me to show His love to the many people I get to talk to every day!

Lesson learned... If you live for God and do the right thing, the good in others will always shine brighter reminding us that Good always wins!

I'm ending this day thanking Him for a life full of blessings!!
