The best kind of day

I just have to say I am loving my days off at home with my family so much.  Today was a bonus day off because my grandparents are on a trip so that left Gia without a babysitter… Definitely not a problem for me to step in and I am so thankful my job allows me to be flexible with my schedule to take care of my family.

We woke up to a snow covered, wintery cold day.  I was very thankful that the roads weren’t too bad and I could still make it over to Karlee’s for our play date & BBBB meeting!

We had so much fun playing, talking, and had yummy subway for lunch.

Gia and I came home in the late afternoon.  I got busy prepping dinner while she played in her jumperoo.  When it was naptime for Miss Gia I say down to do my daily devotional.  Today’s message was so appropriate for what I needed to hear.  The lesson talked about how spending time daily with God should be our making priority, and by doing that we will be blessed and equipped with the strength to get through whatever the day brings us.  I get too wrapped up in my to do list for the day and that’s exactly why I need to slow down.  By getting my day started and not rushing through my quiet time, I know that will set the tone for the rest of my day.  God is good.

Gia woke up shortly after Dan got home from work and seeing her face light up when she sees him makes me so happy.  We just had a delicious batch of chili for dinner and now we are playing with Gia while watching the Blues game.

On another note, I finished the book God Never Blinks last night and it is soooo good!  A must read for those that haven’t read it.

I love that today is only Thursday but feels like a Monday.  Cheers to being on holiday mode and never knowing what day it is!
