Happy Wednesday! Time out… how is it Wednesday already?! Where has this week gone?!
I feel so spoiled with having this ENTIRE week off work as some remodeling is done at the salon… It is absolutely wonderful to have this opportunity of a stay-cation to unwind and just r-e-l-a-x!!!!
I have absolutely taken advantage of this time off… house is organized and clean… workout routine is back in action… Bennett is feeling extra love having me home more… and I just feel all around refreshed & recharged!
I began my day today with a gym workout… running was calling my name and I knew it was time to switch up my routine at the gym…
I broke in my brand new running shoes {Christmas gift from my hubby!}
and they are ::AWESOME:: !!! Incredible support and comfort… I used to run in Asics, but after having my feet checked out at a local running store these Brooks Adrenaline were recommended to me, and I love them!
My workout consisted of the following:
- First 30ish minutes at a .5 incline
- 5 min warm up at 4.0 mph
- 5 min jog at 5.5 mph
- 3 min walk at 4.0
- 8 min jog at 5.8
- 3 min walk at 4.0
- 5 min jog at 6.0
- 5 min at 4.0
- Finished up with 30 min at 15 incline at 4.0 mph
My heart was pumping and I was sweating big time… It felt great to know that I could have run a lot longer, but I didn’t have to quite yet… We officially signed up for the Marathon Relay in April so I only have 6.8 miles to complete on race day… piece of cake
My other favorite workout accessory? My special power band that reminds me to be thankful for a strong & healthy body… Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
After the gym I treated myself to an iced coffee and a shellac manicure… I had not had one since before Christmas and I still could not be happier with how they hold up… I went with a clean polish this time to try and make it last even longer…
I picked up lunch at Lo Cal Café {YUM!} and headed home to take Bennett on a nice long walk…
I’m so proud of myself for making more of an effort to walk him… something that should have been a priority just often got pushed aside… but thanks to the motivation of my fill-in-the-blank goal charts I am extra motivated and reminded to walk him!
I made a chart for walking Bennett and also for my weekly workouts… so far it is awesome! Who says stickers can’t motivate a 26 year old?! I have definitely found that if I am “forced” to do a workout on a certain day I am more likely to shy away from it, but when I have the chance to choose what I do on any given day I am more likely to reach my goal… funny how we have to play mental games with ourselves, huh?
Here are my fill-in goal charts:
I just finished up a 20 minute yoga session {another one of my NYR} and even though I have only been practicing for over a week I can already tell a huge difference in my flexibility… loving it! I purchased this awesome dvd online for only $6 and it is so convenient for me!
I love how you can break up the workouts into a customized session for a min of 10 minutes or up to 50 minutes.
Now I’m going to download some new fun songs for my running playlist and then get ready for a fun night! Family dinner to celebrate my sister being home and also her birthday! Yay!
Feeling incredibly blessed & content this week… God is GOOD!
