Happy Thursday

Last weekend my work celebrated our Christmas party... We have two girls about to have babies, so hosting the party after the holidays would not work out this year. I personally think it was amazing timing, and has really gotten me into the Christmas spirit already. Isn't it strange how some years you feel more into the season than others??... or is that just me??

{Even though my head appears to be double the size of my hubby's, I still really liked this pic}

This past week thinking about how much fun we had at our party, it really has made me thankful for my job. I've said several times that if you asked me 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago what I thought my career would be at age 25... I can honestly say being a hair stylist would not have even crossed my mind. Of course no job is perfect... and I will admit mine sometimes throws me a curve ball... BUT I can truly say I love my job. I love my co-workers, my clients, and I love getting to be creative and make people feel great about themselves all day long :) At this point in my awesome journey, I know I am exactly where I'm supposed to be... and once again I am taught a great lesson that everything happens for a reason. All those past "mistakes, setbacks, or even regrets" have taught me lessons and molded me into the person I am today... and you know what?? I can say absolutely say with 100% confidence that I am okay with that! { AND I cannot even begin to describe how huge that is for me! Wahooo!}

Today has been a busy/productive day for me... which is always the goal for my days off... I began my day by shopping for business clothes for my brother (who starts his first grown up job next week, yay clarkie!)... Then I ran a couple errands and headed over to pick up Mum to take her to the airport. She is "living life to the fullest" and taking a nice long weekend for herself, which I think is ::AWESOME:: ! She works so hard during the week, plus is currently working on her Master's... so she more than deserves a little R&R :)

Sooooo that leads me to my exciting plans for this weekend... house/Jessie sitting :)

I am currently at my Mum's... watching girl movies/thursday night TV... and feeling like I've traveled back in time (I'll explain why in a second)... Dan will join me tomorrow night and the rest of the weekend, but for tonight he stayed at home (and also kept Bennett)... so it's just Jessie & I tonight :)

It was a strange feeling packing an overnight bag and saying goodbye to my two boys... I can't remember the last time I spent the night away from Dan other than when one of us was out of town... cheesey huh?? :) It kind of makes me feel like when I first started dating Dan and even though I was living on my own, I loved going to spend the night at my mommas house :) I'm expecting a phone call around 10pm-ish when he realizes how quiet the house is, and he can't fall asleep... so then we will talk on the phone until he does (just like when we were dating hehe)... do I know him or what?!

BUT for me... I plan on indulging on my favorite girly treats... getting caught up on homework... and watching really girly things on TV :) Let's just say I'm a little "girl" deprived at home since our TV solely revolves around football & HGTV right now.

Tomorrow morning Manda & I are going to Zumba! I am soooo excited, it's been way too long. Can't wait to see her and then spend time with her kiddos too!
