Another Great Holiday Weekend

Well here we are on another Sunday evening... even though I truly enjoy my job... there's just something about the anticipation of a FULL work week... the holiday have come & gone... and it really seems like a long stretch until summer fun! We do have an exciting couple of months ahead of us... somewhere along the lines we will be traveling to purchase a new boat (still to be determined where and what kind)... our 1st anniversary is in Feb (we are planning to combine that with valentines day)... then Dans birthday in march, and before you know it, spring will have sprung :) So no worries... I'm sure 2011 will be full of fun & excitement!

We had a great, long weekend off together...

Friday (NYE) after the TORNADOES left the area... the sun came out & we decided to go enjoy the 60+ degree weather by some shopping/errands & then dinner...

After dinner we came home to play the wii & just relax... not a bag way to spend NYE... couldn't have gone better in my opinion :)

Happy 2011!!!!

Today was completely dedicated to football (go figure)... We had some visitors so I decided that we needed LOTS of appetizer-type food... my plan is to get really strict for the next few months with my eating habits, so why not celebrate/splurge a little right???

On the Menu:

• veggie tray
• fruit tray
• cocktail shrimp
• lil smokies
• queso dip
• summer sausage & cheese
• "pigs in a blanket"
• cowboy caviar
• cheese potato soup (loaded with extra veggies)

{I actually didn't end up over-eating at all, which really surprised me... and I sent a ton of left overs home with my brother & his roommates, and also my mom... yay me! maybe I am getting the hang of this}

I tried out my super fancy new crock pot (thanks to my in-laws)

Then we all relaxed and watched football... during half-time in one of the games we played Wheel of Fortune on the Wii... which is a BLAST! Then took naps... how funny, right?!?!

Now the kitchen is all cleaned... and we are preparing for the Rams game... which I have been informed is just as important as the super bowl...

So I'm gonna grab my kindle & snuggle in by the fire... :) Happy Sunday to me! :)
