It is no secret that I have been quite a fan of a certain carbonated beverage for quite a few years... When I began my "healthy lifestyle" makeover one of the first things I did was start trying to drink diet soda instead of regular... I realized I had been consuming approximately 1,000 calories a day just in soda... and I quickly realized those calories needed to be saved to fuel me in the for of food, not a sugary drink...
I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt and looked after I cut back on all of that sugar, but switching to diet has still led me to be dependant on that daily {or multiple daily} soda...
I often wonder what the big deal is... do I just like the carbonation??? or sometimes it's just the appeal of a fountain drink with crushed ice... but regardless I feel bothered by how often I "crave" a soda...
Since my recent found love of iced coffee {yum!} I also realized I do not need to be so reliant on as much caffeine as I consume on a daily basis... so instead of saying I'm going to quit cold turkey... my goal is to cut back...
One coffee in the morning... and if necessary a little pick me up in the afternoon... even though my goal is to replace my drinks throughout the day with water :)
Eventually I would like to rid soda out of my diet completely, but I'm not going to set myself up for failure JUST in case I hear a fountain soda desperately calling my name :)
