About six months ago I got a letter in the mail wishing me a happy birthday {kind of} from the Secretary of State's office... along with the letter was notification that my license would be expiring on my upcoming birthday... I knew to expect this because I remember D's license expired when he turned 26 last year... BUT as I read on further in the letter I also was notified that I would be expected to take a vision test {no biggie}, pay the fee {figures...} and TAKE ALL APPLICABLE WRITTEN EXAMS {WHAT?!?!?!??!}
Needless to say I've been in a panic anticipating my upcoming written driving exam that I haven't given any thought since I turned 16 {10 years ago=whoa!}
Many thoughts ran through my head ranging from "don't be silly, it can't be that bad" to "oh my gosh what if I fail, will they simply just take away my license?!"... to which my mom responded "oh gosh kel, they probably give you a couple chances to pass" not a risk I wanted to even consider taking!
So anyway I told myself I would go take the test Friday {tomorrow}, since Monday is the holiday and I have to work on Tuesday {my birthday} so I wanted to just get it out of the way... and then of course I changed my mind and decided I wanted to go before work today so I just had a peace of mind knowing it was over and done with...
Wow this is sounding dramatic ;)
Yesterday I went over the current IL Rules of the Road...
I studied the signs, rules, and everything in between...
I arrived this morning at the DMV & signed in at 8:03... and PASSED with a 97% :) silly me missed one question about what to do when your car skids off the road {although I think I could reason the answer I choose, but let's move on haha}.... and left with my new license by 8:27... phewwwwww!
Let's hope when my license expires again in 4 years... when I'm 30! that I don't draw this lucky card again... could you imagine if I had to take the road test?! yikes! :)
